Authority : Sections 1 and 2 of An Act to provide for annual inspection of all motor vehicles in the District of Columbia, approved February 18, 1938 (52 Stat. 78; D.C. Official Code §§ 40-201 and 40-202); Sections 1822(b), 1824(3)(A), and 1825(2) of the Department of Motor Vehicles Establishment Act of 1998, effective March 26, 1999 (D.C. Law 12-175; D.C. Official Code §§ 40-151(b), 40-153(3)(A), and 1825(2) (1999 Supp.); and Mayor’s Order 94-176, dated August 2, 1994.

Source : Regulation No. 72-13, effective June 30, 1972, published at 19 DCR 61 (July 24, 1972), which adopted the Special Edition of the D.C. Register entitled “Title 32, Department of Motor Vehicles, Motor Vehicle Regulations for the District of Columbia” into Title 32 of the District of Columbia Rules and Regulations (DCRR); 32 DCRR § 4.302, Special Edition; as amended by Final Rulemaking published at 48 DCR 1150 (February 9, 2001); as amended by Final Rulemaking published at 48 DCR 6261 (July 13, 2001).
